Introducing… QT’s Sewing Salesman!

We are excited to introduce to you a new series on our blog, QT’s Sewing Salesman!  That’s right, Regional Sales Manager Mike Flynn, is creating videos while making the quilt projects we offer with our fabric collections.   Mike is one of those 24/7, on-the-go, never stops kind of people… We think he’s funny and has a lot of good tips!  Check it out!

Sew along with our Sewing Salesman!  Laugh, learn and create…

I’m Mike Flynn, the Southern Retail Sales Manager for QT Fabrics.  When I started 6 years ago, I was a garment sewer only, making fun shirts for myself.  But selling fabric to quilt shops got me interested in trying to make a quilt, and once I made one, I was hooked!  I learned how to make quilts by asking my quilt shop owners/customers, and learned from many different experts.  Now I hope to pass some of this vast store of southern quilting knowledge on to you.  Enjoy!

The first project up features our Mustang Sunset collection by Dan Morris.  The quilt pattern is Cowboy Memories II by The Whimsical Workshop – available for-sale here!

This quilt-along blog will be sent out in 8 segments.  Go at your own pace! We will post these videos each Saturday and you can follow along – be sure to subscribe to our QT Fabrics Youtube channel!

Here is a handy list for the supplies needed to make this quilt – click here:  MustangSunset_FabricRequirement to download and save!  Fabrics are available at your favorite independent fabric shop – here is our shop locator!  You can now search both brick & mortar AND online shops!

Gather your supplies and check out this introductory video with Mike!  We’ll be back next Saturday for another segment of QT’s Sewing Salesman!

  1. Fantastic video, Mike…can’t wait to watch more! Thanks for visiting with us this morning at Quilt Guild by the Sea and for your very informative presentation. And thanks for the super goody bag that was waiting for us at StitchCraft during your Short Bolt Sale! That was a very nice surprise!

  2. Thank you for an awesome presentation at Jeff’s Sewing. I’m excited to think of the possibilities for fabric with the digital printing capabilities you described. The colors are so vibrant and breathtaking. I am a beginning quilter, so I’m looking forward to this series. Again, thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with us.
