We are proud to be Americans and at this time of year, we have President’s Day as a national holiday to celebrate our country’s history and honor our forefathers! February 22 is George Washington’s birthday – our first President of the United States and an icon of our American … Continue reading Long May She Wave… Happy President’s Day!
Have you seen the Find the Panda craze? It’s just that – a bit crazy!!! Here’s a link to it in case you haven’t seen it… PANDA!
We have our own version of this puzzle in our Ink & Arrow designs. Hidden inside each fabric is a little motif! Look for an I&A, Ink & Arrow (words) or Arrow motif in our fabrics!!! WHY???? Well, it’s a little something… something… just to make it extra FUN!
Take a peek at these fabrics and see if you can find the hidden icon?
What’s even more fun??? How about making an I spy project?!?!?!
How about a shirt that has a pocket featuring the hidden icon – see if anyone notices? Or, a quilt with the hidden icon here and there. Just have fun with it and remember that there are no rules, just great fabrics!!! We hope you enjoy…
Also feel free to stop by our website, inkandarrowfabrics.com and submit a photo of a project you created with our fabrics!!!
How could we resist this? I mean, our new collection, Talk to Me is arriving in your favorite fabric store right now!!!
It’s super exciting and we want to celebrate with one of our favorite versions of this most appropriate song! Adele’s Hello! (The Quirky version ;))
I was at a local flea market a year or so ago and a little boy, aged 8-ish, saw a rotary telephone. He turned to his mom and said “What IS that thing? It looks like a phone but what is THAT?” as he pointed to the rotary dial. I aged a good 15 years that moment! 🙂
Nostalgia is alive and well. What is old is new again! We can appreciate the kitsch of rotary phones, typewriters and television sets in this fantastic new collection from Alicia Jacobs! How divine! I just adore the colors and the nod to retro communication devices!!! One day, in the future, there will be a fabric collection with smart phones and laptops and flat screens and we will laugh and remember how silly it was to use those!
Until then, enjoy this ensemble of fabulously fun fabrics! Click to view the whole collection on our website!
And… if you have a minute, check out this video of “How to dial your phone by Bell System’ from 1954” It’s over 9 minutes long and I umm, well, I watched the whole thing 🙂 Love it!!! Click on the phone below!

“The Ladybug wears no disguises.
She is just what she advertises.
A speckled spectacle of spring,
A fashion statement on the wing….
A miniature orange kite.
A tiny dot-to-dot delight.”

One of my favorite things, besides fabric (of course) and print/pattern (of course) is color.
I LOVE COLOR!
I remember opening up my new crayon box and sitting there studying the crayons as if they were color chips. I didn’t dare use my favorite colors, and, ummmm, every color was my favorite! 🙂 Fortunately, I was lucky enough to have multiple sets of crayons. There was one that was dedicated for “show only”. Kind of like your mom’s “good scissors” that were only for fabric. I still think twice before using my scissors – every time!!!
Things haven’t changed much, I still love staring at color and I found my niche working here! I’m so lucky!
So…when I saw this collection of “basics” or “blenders” by Dan Morris, I immediately fell in love. This is my visual Ode to Scrollscapes and I hope you enjoy it!
Click on the Wheel to go to the website and choose your favorite! Come back and comment with the one you love the most!!!
This is my favorite color from Scrollscapes, Teal! It’s so pretty!!!
Showing the full width of the fabric and it’s repeat. Measures approximately 44″ x 24″ from selvedge to selvedge.
Below, I took samples from the fabric to show the variations within the selvedge to selvedge repeat! So many great options. It’s really a bunch of fabrics in one!
5″ Sections from the repeat of the fabric… pretty fabulous!
I’ll be back next week to talk a little more about colors, color stories and how to pick the perfect palette for your next project!
Next week, I’ll announce a new contest where you could be the winner of a fat quarter of each of these colors! Come on back, we want to spoil you with fabulous, colorful, Scrollscapes fabrics!
Sunset is still my favorite color, and rainbow is second.

I am thankful for… so many things. I make it a point before I go to bed each night to think of something I was especially grateful for that day. Of course, there are days of sunshine and days of shadows, but there is ALWAYS something to appreciate.

The above designs are from our “In Bloom” collection by Dan Morris. I love the rich, vivid colors and the beautiful flowers. Color and pattern are some things that always bring me Joy, I hope you find joy in the little things today and always… Happy Thanksgiving!
Make it a habit to tell people thank you. To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return. Truly appreciate those around you, and you’ll soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life, and you’ll find that you have more of it.

This picture is a bit blurry. I apologize. I was so excited to meet our friends Sharyn and Lori, I took this photo too quickly and well, you get the (fuzzy) picture 😉
This is Sharyn Cole (pictured on left), our friend and designer of the Tuffet. Lori College (holding the mini tuffet on the right) is Store Manager at Thimble Pleasures in Chapel Hill, NC and is friends with Sharyn.
Sharyn made these amazing tuffets for us out of our new Ombre Scroll fabrics we launched at Quilt Market in Houston. The mini one was made just for us and we fell in love immediately, how can you not?
A tuffet is an upholstered stool, like a small ottoman. They are so chic!
Sharyn’s passion is making tuffets. She started her own business called “Tuffet Source”. Her imaginative creations are lovely. I cannot get over the different variations of tuffets in her gallery. It is kind of amazing to see! I hope you stop by her site and check it out, I will put her link at the bottom of the blog. Her passion shines through in her work. It is always so wonderful to meet someone who enjoys their work so much and is so generous to share their creativity and passion with others. THANK YOU SHARYN!!!
In our office here, we have to say TUFFET with a loud and proud voice! When I first spoke with Sharyn on the phone, my co-worker noticed I was yelling TUFFET with such gusto and excitement. It’s kind of the only way to say it now… Anyway, we are super excited, can’t you tell?
Just beautiful…
Proudly displayed at Quilt Market in our new booth with the Ombre Scroll. Our “Festival of Stars” Block of the Month and “Stained Glass” quilts.

Finally, before I go, I wanted to let you know that we are going to be following our
“Traveling Tuffet”
on her adventure around the country. Our regional sales managers will take turns hosting our very own mini-tuffet and it will be exciting to see where the journey takes her. Stay tuned… find out where she is heading next!!!
